Our Australian subsidiaries
- BayWa r.e. Australia Pty Ltd
The Wind and Solar Projects teams have been operating in Australia since early 2017. The Solar Projects team entered the Australian market through the acquisition and subsequent development of the Hughenden Solar Farm in Northern Queensland. The Wind Projects team was established through the acquisition of a local developer, Future Energy, and its project pipeline.
BayWa r.e.’s Australian wind and solar companies are co-located in our Melbourne office. We focus on delivering Australian wind and solar projects and offer services such as asset and operations management across the APAC region, as well as turnkey construction, internal financing and investment opportunities and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Our solar experience
In September 2016, we officially transitioned from our existing solar wholesaling business Solarmatrix, to become a part of the BayWa r.e. Group. With this transition came a whole host of benefits that we could now pass on to solar installers ranging from the added security of having a finically strong and internationally renowned company backing us and our customers, to expanding of our product portfolio to include even more industry-leading solar suppliers.
We believe that solar installation companies are the backbone of a healthy solar industry. They are tasked with delivering the message to the end user of the importance of using high-quality components in every PV installation.
