BayWa r.e. Projects Australia is in the early stages of developing a wind farm near Hay in southwest NSW, and the community engagement aspect of this project is something we very much enjoy.
This month our Managing Director Fleur Yaxley and Project Developer Aidan O’Mahony had the happy duty of attending a local business awards gala and presenting the Apprentice of the Year award we sponsored.
Congratulation to our winner Leonard O’Hara, a mature-age trainee who got his start at Crighton’s Rural Engineering with the help of a government program to give indigenous people entry to the irrigation industry.
Mr O’Hara completed his formal training late last year and is now employed fuill-time as a certified Water Meter Installer and Validator.
“You can set Lenny a task and you know he'll come back with the task completed exactly as you requested. No need to check his work,” his employer said.
BayWa r.e. Projects Australia sponsored the award. Ms Yaxley and Mr O’Mahony reported a great night was had by all.
At BayWa r.e. while we’re “r.e. thinking” energy, we’re also looking out for people and the planet. Click here for more about our True Blew wind farm project.
